Springtime 7 day Southern Germany Roadtrip 

An unexpected business trip that fell on our 25th wedding anniversary led to an extraordinarily beautiful road trip through Southern Bavaria. Unexpected highlights included

• 
  A night watchman tour in the medieval town of Rotenberg ob der Tauber
•  Climbing 350 steps up Daniel's tower to see the meteor crater of Nördlingen 

• Hiking through Grimm's Black Forest with the wind blowing the trees and the birds singing

• Hearing the cathedral bell's ring in the quaint town of Heidelberg as we walked in the evening streets of cobblestone

• Discovering the abandoned Hopfen Am See castle ruins in Fussen

• Rolling fields of yellow Rapeseed flowers

• the awesome Wieskirche

• The "seaside town" of Lindau on the Bodensee

• Learning how clocks work and the fascinating history of clock making in the Triberg Black Forest Museum
• Hitting our bucket list location of Neuschwanstein

 

 

Family New Year's in Las Vegas to Bryce Canyon to Zion National Park Road Trip

Having accidentally purchased plane tickets for a much-longer than intended Las Vegas visit, we would up turning it into the the trip of a lifetime.

• Las Vegas without gambling can be an wonderful, fun family trip.  Some of the highlights included
• Visiting the Neon Museum
• The New York, new York Roller Coast
• Taste testing Coke products from around the world
• Checking out all of the family-friendly casino activities
• Day trip to the engineering accomplishment of the Hoover Dam - don't miss the nearby abandoned train tunnels
• Road trip to the gorgeous Bryce Canyon:  Winter is definitely the time to visit this incredible National Park.  The snow on the red rocks and the lack of crowds make for an amazing trip.  Bring warm clothing and don't forget crampons!
• Road trip to Zion National Park where Kyle found his "favorite place on earth", an unnamed trail that led to an incredible frozen waterfall
